Ten Years Ago Today...

I started my career with the Airlines. But just a few months shy of celebrating my ten-year anniversary, my career ended abruptly, along with the Company's existence.

No one could have imagined it. At least I couldn’t, and a lot of my former co-workers couldn’t.

Working for the Airlines was wonderful. Not only did I have a great job, but the flying benefits were a great perk, of course. There are so many places I still wish I could see, and I was looking forward to one day taking my kids on international trips…but at least I did take advantage of my flying benefits while I could.

There’s so many highlights from all of the numerous trips we’ve been on…taking pictures with crocodiles in a crocodile farm in Cancun (looking back, that was DUMB, but at the time I thought it was neat), going to the Sumo stables in Tokyo, getting hooked on french fries and gravy in Victoria (I crave them all the time now), and bringing home lots and lots of goodies from Trader Joe’s. And at least we got to go on two trips with DS before the Company shut its doors.

Ten years…

I’ve learned a lot, gained a lot of experience and knowledge, and made a lot of wonderful friends and memories. And I actually met DH because of this Company!

Although I still get sad when I think about what’s been lost, I still have countless blessings, including my home, my health, and my family. I did find a part-time job with flexible hours and the option to work at home on occasion, but everything happens for a reason, and now I get to spend more time being a mommy!

Everything DOES happen for a reason, it's true!

It sounds like you really enjoyed your career, but as this door shuts, another will open. It will be exciting to see, what will be behind that door!!
