"I'm a Whale Shark"

When I was pregnant with DS, a friend emailed me "You look so good! When I was pregnant, I was a whale." I emailed her back "Well, if you were a whale, I'm a whale shark!"

So here I am, more than half-way through my pregnancy, and I'm a whale shark again. I just went to my doctor appointment and I gained 6 1/2 pounds in one month. 6 1/2 pounds! The only reason why I didn't get a good scolding from him was because last month I gained only 2 pounds, and overall I gained 13 pounds, which he said is not too bad. But he did say I need to be careful and I can't keep gaining a lot of weight.

I can't remember how much I gained during my first pregnancy. I think it was between 27-29 pounds. Of course, I was not skinny to begin with (let's just say the year before I became pregnant one of my female co-workers actually asked me "are you expecting?" The NERVE! Ha ha), so of course I would look like a whale shark at the end of 9 months.

Well, I just have to be more careful about what I eat.

And I'll start as soon as I finish up the Two-Bite Brownies that I bought at Sam's Club (sooooooooo much better than the Brookies). YUM =)

13 pounds is not bad at all! You enjoy those brownies! I say you're doing great!

I gained so much weight with my oldest that my OB told me to try to lose 2 pounds before my next visit. Oh! And at Thanksgiving he told me I really should "skip the pie". Hmph!

Being pregnant is about the only time that we can gain weight and really be beautiful. I am not saying go overboard but you do have to provide nurishment for the little one. Enjoy it.

Oh god I can relate. I got pregnant shortly after college, where I gained the freshman 50 - wait what? God I wish I was kidding. Add another 30-40 to that. I was not a very well behaved mom. And I haven't lost much more than maybe 10 lbs since then... ::sigh::

The next baby? I'm hoping i'm so nauseous I can't keep anything down. Seriously.
