If you watched the Disney movie Enchanted, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Oscar-nominated song “So Close,” which was performed by singer/songwriter Jon McLaughlin at this past year’s Academy Awards ceremony.
According to his bio:

I love this single. It’s the kind of song I can picture myself singing to while driving in my car. I really like his style—a bit of pop, a bit of rock, a bit of soul.

I didn't watch the video - just listened to the song...but I like it. It's got a nice (but unique) beat, and if it came on the radio while I was in the car I would would definitely turn it up. I really like his voice too.

Every time I see the "Beating my Heart" video on VH1 I turn it WAY up!! It is just one of those songs that is SOOOO addicting and you find yourself dancing along and tapping your toe to.
And I have to say...he's not too bad to look at either...LOL!!!

Interesting variety of synthesizer options going on, and that solid 4/4 beat, with the occasional flurry for dynamic -- and the range on his voice is quite cool. Not your average, typical pop.
