Polliwalks

When the Family Review Network sent out information on a review opportunity for Polliwalks, a line of shoes that some may wonder “is it a shoe or a toy?”-- I knew the shoes would be a big hit with my son.

He had the idea that children’s shoes should be fun and offer toy like features that will make wearing shoes a playful experience, while offering support, stability and comfort for little feet. Joel teamed up with his wife, and three of his long time industry colleagues, and together, they created Polliwalks™.”

Polliwalks has an adorable selection of styles and colors that kids of all ages would love. I chose to review the Gator shoe in Army--it’s actually the best-selling style!

When we received the shoes I set them by the door and DS immediately tried to put them on. Unfortunately, I requested the wrong size (due to my mommy absent mindedness) so the shoes were a bit too big for him, but he didn’t care—he still kept trying to put the Polliwalks on. After realizing it wouldn’t fit, he began playing with the shoes (I guess the answer to the question above is BOTH—it’s a shoe AND a toy!).

Because of my error, I had a relative test out the shoes, and the following were the comments that resulted:

"Feels really good--really comfortable."
"Neat alligator."
"Can I get more?"

Personally, I like how the shoes are breathable and slip resistant, and it’s really neat how the bottom of each shoe depicts the footprint of the animal. And cleaning the Polliwalks is a cinch! You can toss them in your washer and let them air dry. I love that!

Of course, I have to mention that another big reason why Polliwalks are a hit with me is because of the following environmentally friendly aspects according to their website:

• No Waste Manufacturing - all excess material created from molding process is recycled.
• Environmentally friendly packaging - tags and hooks made from recycled paper and plastic, minimal packaging used.
• Environmentally friendly water based adhesives used in manufacturing.

Where can you get your hands on some of these "fun-tastic" shoes? You can get them at many retailers, including Nordstrom, Shoebuy.com, Dillards, and Zappos.com. Also, Zappos.com and select Dillards will be selling two spring styles—Fish Lips and Firefly—exclusively for the holidays (all other styles are available at all retailers).
