Safeway PowerPump Rewards

Many people, including myself, often turn to gift cards for holidays gifts. They’re convenient, and it allows the recipient to get exactly what he or she wants. In fact, I previously posted about how the year DS#1 was born I sent my hubby to Safeway’s Gift Card Mall to get gift cards for everyone on our list for the holidays since we had no time to shop!

With Safeway’s broad selection of gift cards—Macy’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, and so much more, it’s like a one-stop shop for gift cards. Can you imagine how time consuming it would be to go to all the various stores to pick up the gift cards? Who has the time?

I just found out about another great reason to shop at Safeway’s gift card mall through Mom Central—the PowerPump Rewards Program.

According to the website, when you shop at Safeway and its family of stores (Vons, Dominick’s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Pavilions, Carrs, and Genuardi’s) “simply use your Club Card to get a $1.50 PowerPump Gas Reward for every $100 you spend on groceries or gift cards. The rewards add up, so it’s easy to earn $1.50, $3.00, $4.50 or more in no time. Purchases can be made in a single or multiple transactions. Once you have received your Rewards Card, Pharmacy prescriptions will apply towards Rewards. Every second prescription filled will accumulate toward your PowerPump Rewards and will automatically download onto your card within 24 hours of it being issued. Your Rewards Card may be used at any participating ARCO station. Eligible purchases towards $100 spend exclude pharmacy prescription purchases and co-pays.”

And now through December 25, 2008, you can earn double PowerPump Rewards and earn an additional reward for every $100 you spend on gift cards (see the website for restrictions and exclusions).

You don’t need to only buy gift cards as gifts to take advantage of the double rewards offer. If you normally shop at Toys R Us or dine at California Pizza Kitchen, buy yourself a gift card and you’ll get the double points!
