Just in time for Easter, DS1 and I got to read a cute and funny story together—Panda’s Easter Basket by Tara Jaye Morrow, Illustrated by Aaron Boyd (Sterling Publishing, ARV $6.95)

Yummy—what a delicious-looking Easter basket Panda has, with chocolate eggs, jelly beans, and a big chocolate bunny! But when he gobbles it all up at once, he pays the price with a terrible tummy ache. Fortunately, Mom knows how to soothe his pain and the two settle in for a snuggly holiday.

DS1 had fun counting all of the colorful eggs that Panda found on Easter morning, and he could definitely relate to having an Easter basket full of lots of goodies that he couldn’t wait to dig into.

It’s too bad that Panda got a tummy ache after eating so much candy, but now DS1 knows why mommy doesn’t like to give him too much candy and other goodies at all once.

Our favorite part of the book is the sweet card and poem that Panda made for Mama. We kept reading the card over and over again while acting out the poem (giving Panda Hugs and Mama Kisses).

Panda’s Easter Basket is a cute story with an even cuter ending that is fun to read any time of year!
