World Championship Games-A Track & Field Event

When it comes to video games, or actually any kind of game, DH and I are quite competitive, so you can imagine how much competition there was between us playing World Championship Games - A Track & Field Event, courtesy of The Game Factory.

According to the website, “World Championship Games is the most realistic athletics simulation available on handheld consoles. Create and customize your own athletes and compete with them in 14 different events at world famous arenas! Use the stylus to control your athletes as they run, throw, jump, shoot and more. Beat world records and collect medals to unlock additional events and other bonus items!”

As soon as we received World Championship Games (ARV $29.99, Rated E), DH wanted to try it first, and it seemed like every time I wanted to play, he’d be playing! So FINALLY one day I had my chance, and of course, I tried to beat all of DH’s personal bests and get more medals than he did!

There are Rookie, Pro, and Advanced levels (we’ve only been playing the Rookie levels so far), and the events are pretty easy to compete in. Some events simply required the use of the stylus, others required use of the buttons in addition to the stylus and you needed to get the timing down just right. My favorite event is Running Target Rifle, and DH’s favorite event is the Long Jump. The only event I disliked was the 1500m race. Continuously dragging the stylus for a few minutes was just a teensy bit boring, but the remaining events in World Championship Games are quite fun!

I’m proud to say that I have actually beaten DH’s personal bests in a few of the events and won several medals, although I’m not beating him in the medal count.

We still have events and stadiums to unlock, but DH and I are having a lot of fun competing against each other!

World Championship Games is fun for the entire family and fosters healthy competition!

Now if only I can beat DH in the Decathlon…
