The other day I received a pretty bouquet of California Grown flowers courtesy of the California Cut Flower Commission thanks to the Family Review Network.
The California Cut Flower Commission is a state government agency created by the Legislature to promote California-grown cut flowers and foliages. California's unique climate allows its flower growers an advantage in producing the finest cut flower in the world. A California flower grower uses the latest technologies to produce and transport their cut flowers to market in the quickest and most efficient way, ensuring that you receive fresh, high quality products. California flowers are in demand by the finest flower retailers in the U.S.
We were looking for a vase for the flowers, and a funny conversation took place between DH and I. DH asked me “Where are the vases?” I said “We don’t have any.” He said “Yes, we do,” and I said “We don’t—I donated them all since I don’t get flowers anymore.” Then he gave me a funny look…I like getting flowers, but not for when it’s a special occasion. I like to get flowers “just because,” and I used to get “just because flowers” often. It’s not that DH isn’t thoughtful anymore--he does a lot of nice things and gets me thoughtful little gifts every now and then “just because.” However, it’s still nice to get flowers…
My flowers were vibrant and beautiful when they arrived, and they sure brightened up our home. Flowers are always nice to have around the house. They create an inviting atmosphere, and can lift your spirits.
Now, if I wanted DH to get me flowers more often, I could use the California Cut Flo
wer Commission’s Hint Cards, which are fun reminders you leave for your loved ones in hopes they’ll catch the hint and get you some flowers. My favorite Hint Card is the “Not because you have to. Not because you’re sorry. Just because.” I also think the “'Don’t let all of my hard work go to waste!' – Mr. Bumble Bee? is a funny one. I’d probably leave one in DH’s wallet, another in his car, and another in his lunch cooler. I think he’d think it was pretty funny, and hopefully he’d catch the hint.Hint Cards are an amusing way to drop the hint to your loved ones that you’d like to get some flowers, and by using them you may end up with a beautiful bouquet, just like the one I received full of California Grown Flowers.

These are adorable!! Great idea! I would definitely leave a hint card under my husband's pillow or in the pocket of his work pants or in his lunch bag that I pack for him. Oh gosh, I have all these ideas now, so it sure would be great to get these in my hands:)

My sister and I have a standing joke where I leave her little notes suggesting she sends me flowers so I would tuck it into her family message center next time I am there.
