Urbanity

These days, many invites and other announcements are often sent electronically. Not that I think there’s anything wrong with that—I often send electronic invites myself, but it’s always nice to receive a cute birthday party invitation, a beautiful wedding invitation, or even a thank you card in the mail, and Urbanity offers stationery products that anyone would be happy to receive.

Urbanity began after President/Design Director, Meghann Kopecky got married. She and her husband could not find a wedding invitation that represented their special day and reflected the elegance of the event. The couple decided to make their own invitations and little did they know that it would start Meghann down a path of creating a design firm specializing in stationery, invitations, and announcements.

Four years after Meghann got married, she decided to move the business from a part-time venture to a full-time business. The company was officially launched May 2006.

I received some samples of the many products and designs that Urbanity offers: Oh Baby Boy photo birth announcement (ARV $.99-$2.25 depending on quantity/size), a Princess Party-Crown invitation (ARV $.75-$2.04 depending on quantity/size), and a Thank You Card Shout Out (ARV $1.05-$1.70 depending on quantity).

Not only are the designs of these products fun and fresh, but I thought it was really great that for most products you can change the wording and colors of any design element for free, there are different sizes offered for many designs, and once you meet the low minimum order, you order only what you need thereafter (Need 101 invitations? How about 67?), and you get a PDF proof of your personalized order!

Urbanity also offers unique items—such as announcements shaped like bibs and cribs, but my favorite product that Urbanity offers is the Message in the Bottle, which I also received a sample of in the Polka Dot design.

The Message in a Bottle Invitations and Stationery (ARV $3.99/6 bottles) are the cutest idea. The bottle is really light and can actually be mailed with first class postage. You can order the bottles to be filled with fun extras (rose petals, sand, etc.), and anyone who receives these bottles would definitely be delighted!
