iStoryTime Review

DH and I are always downloading apps for the iPhone or iPod touch that we think our boys would enjoy, or that would keep them occupied when the need arises (e.g. waiting in the doctor’s office). Thanks to the Family Review Network and FrogDogMedia, I was able to download an iStoryTime book which does the job of keeping Little Music Man occupied while entertaining him as well.

iStoryTime brings the joy of a children's book to the convenience of your iPhone or iPod® touch. Our books are illustrated and narrated, so your child can enjoy them even when you’re busy. Best of all, the app is drop-dead simple to use because it’s actually designed for a 2-year old.

There are currently 6 different stories too choose from (with more on the way), and I chose to review Binky the Pink Elephant (ARV $1.99; written by Sonowa Jackson - Illustrated by Jaclyn Mednicov; Narrated by Jen Muench and Laci Kay).

Join Binky the elephant on a journey where she learns that being different can also be admirable.

Little Music Man can’t read yet, but it’s great that I have the option of reading the story to him, or he can listen to it being narrated, and Little Music Man can “turn” the pages himself or they can “turn” automatically.

Little Music Man could easily point out the pink elephant, and he enjoyed identifying all the other animals too.

I really liked that this book could easily keep his attention, and it wasn’t too long or too short, but what I like most about Binky the Pink Elephant is the story itself. It is such a sweet story that emphasizes how it’s okay to be different. We are all special in our way, and sometimes we may not even realize it.

I know the next time we’re waiting to see a doctor or waiting in a long line at the store, all we have to do is take out the iPhone and open up iStoryTimes’ Binky the Pink Elephant, and Little Music Man will be occupied and content.

Shop: You can purchase a book to download for your iPhone or iPod touch from the
iTunes App Store.
