Wonder Pets!: Ollie's Slumber Party! Review

Little Music Man and I enjoy watching Wonder Pets!, and we were fortunate to recently review Wonder Pets!: Ollie’s Slumber Party (ARV $16.99, Paramount Home Entertainment).

In Ollie's Slumber Party, the excitement comes closer to home as the colorful critters dress up in their favorite pajamas for a subterranean sleepover with Ollie the Bunny! Ollie the rabbit is planning to have everyone over to his warren for a sleepover, but Ming-Ming is not sure about sleeping underground. Luckily, Linny is on-hand to help convince her that a good time will be had by all.

Episode Descriptions:

• Here's Ollie! - Save the Hound Dog: The Wonder Pets join overactive Ollie the Bunny for a very silly sleepover. Then the team jives to Elvis-style music as they save a Hound Dog stuck in a jukebox.
• The Amazing Ollie! - Help The Monster: Ollie the Bunny can make himself disappear in a magic hat, but to reappear, he needs the Wonder Pets’ help! And so does a grumpy Baby Monster who's destroying a whole city!
• Save the Cool Cat and the Hip Hippo - Tuck and Buck!: The team travels to a New York City club to save Cool Cat and Hip Hippo's jazz acts. Then Tuck's hotshot cousin Buck needs to learn teamwork from the Wonder Pets.
• Save The Dancing Duck - Save The Dalmatian!: Ming-Ming has dancing shoes stuck on her feet and needs her friends to help her! Then it's off to the firehouse to help a Baby Dalmatian who's scared to slide down the pole.

Little Music Man can’t get enough of Wonder Pets!, which is full of cute and cuddly characters and fun and silly songs. I enjoy Wonder Pets! for the same reasons, but also because the episodes teach wonderful lessons, such as things aren’t always what they seem, how being angry doesn’t get the job done, and most importantly—teamwork!

How can you not sing along to “What’s going to work, TEAM WORK!”?

It’s always neat to see how the Wonder Pets figure out how to help their friends that are in trouble.

I also think some of what the characters say is quite amusing, for instance, in the Save the Hound Dog episode, after finding out what records were, Ming-Ming called them “old school.”

The Save the Hound Dog also happened to be our favorite episode on the DVD. The Hound Dog sang Elvis-inspired songs and put on an Elvis performance which was very entertaining!

Whenever the Wonder Pets start singing and dancing, Little Music Man will often join in, and Smiley Boy will do his little “dance” too!

The special features on the DVD included a Here’s Ollie music video and previews.

Wonder Pets!: Ollie’s Slumber Party did not disappoint, providing wholesome entertainment that our entire family enjoys!
