Buddy the Bus #2: A Scary Night Review

I previously posted a review of Buddy the Bus #1: There's Always Tomorrow, and thanks to iOrbi, LLC, we were able to download Buddy the Bus #2: A Scary Night by Brian Jones, Illustrated by Kito Young (ARV $.99).

In the second story of this children's series, Buddy gets caught in a thunder storm on his way back to the bus garage, and with the help of a friend, learns that scary things aren’t always as scary as they may seem.

Just as with Buddy the Bus #1: There’s Always Tomorrow, Little Music Man enjoyed
Buddy the Bus #2: A Scary Night, especially because he loves to ride the bus and loves to point out buses whenever we see them on the street.

A Scary Night was a little similar to There’s Always Tomorrow in terms of Buddy helping people get to their destinations, but the big difference was the main idea of the story. Buddy was very scared of storms, and what made it worse was that he was stuck all alone with a blown out tire! But then he came across his friend Robert from the repair shop, who helped repair his tire, as well as comfort him and reassure him that the storm, like many other scary things, will eventually go away.

Buddy the Bus can be viewed with or without text, and you can also hear it narrated in other languages. There is a neat feature that gives you the ability to record your voice to personalize the storytelling experience, which I think would make the story a lot more fun, since the voice on the story (just as with Buddy the Bus #1) didn’t seem to differentiate much amongst the many characters.

A Scary Night did seem a little long, but Little Music Man still enjoyed the story, especially since the main character was a bus, and I enjoyed it as well, as it taught a good lesson, and also kept Little Music Man occupied and entertained!
