Andy Samberg, The Roots and MGMT were among the celeb guests who appeared with the Yo Gabba Gabba! gang during a week of new episodes, which aired Monday, Oct. 12 – Friday, Oct. 16 on *Nick Jr (*formerly named NOGGIN). Additional guest stars appearing throughout the premiere week included hip-hop legend Biz Markie, teaching preschoolers how to beat box in the recurring “Biz’s Beat of the Day” segment, singer/illustrator/composer Mark Mothersbaugh (DEVO) in the recurring “Mark’s Magic Pictures” drawing segment, skateboarder Ray Barbee and musical guests Reeve Oliver, Lady Tigra and Little Ones. Yo Gabba Gabba!, currently shooting its third season, is created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz and is produced by The Magic Store and W!LDBRAIN. The series airs daily at 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick Jr.

Unfortunately, I don’t live in or near a city that the tour will be stopping in, but I received some Yo Gabba Gabba! products that have been entertaining my boys: Yo Gabba Gabba!: Music is…Awesome! CD, Christmas in Gabba Land book, and Yo Gabba Gabba!: Meet My Family DVD.The Yo Gabba Gabba!: Music is…Awesome! (ARV $12.98, release date Oct. 20th, 2009) is a great CD. As soon as the Theme played, Little Music Man said “Yo Babba Babba.” His favorite songs on the CD were Party in My Tummy and Bubbles. My favorite song was I Like to Dance. This song, and several other songs, have an 80s vibe, which I thought made the CD enjoyable for grown-ups too.
The Christmas in Gabba Land book (ARV $7.99) was a short board book, perfect for my boys, all about the Yo Gabba Gabba! gang decorating a tree and making presents for each other. A neat thing about the book is that there are two different places where you can insert photos of your child!
The DVD Yo Gabba Gabba!: Meet My Family (ARV $16.99) included 4 episodes:Family: When Muno’s family comes to visit Gabbaland, it’s a great time to sing, dance, and learn all about families.
Together: Learn about doing things together with others when DJ Lance Rock and the gang keep the beat while playing games, using teamwork, and even learning not to bite their friends.
Games: Get ready to play all kinds of games-and sing and dance too-with DJ Lance and your friends in Gabbaland!
Imagine: Use your imagination as you sing and dance with DJ Lance Rock and friends, play pretend, explore your muscles, and more!
We recently watched the Family episode on TV so Little Music Man enjoyed seei
ng it again. Little Music Man and Smiley Boy both enjoyed watching the DVD, and they especially enjoyed all of the songs. Even I couldn’t get many of them out of my head—that Eyes on My Face song is so catchy!Hopefully one day Yo Gabba Gabba! will come party in Hawaii, but until then, we have lots of Yo Gabba Gabba! products to keep us entertained!
