My Holiday Wish List

DH says I'm the hardest person to buy gifts for.

I disagree.

My favorite kinds of gifts are ones that are handmade and from the heart--poems, crafts, blankets (DH actually made me a blanket!).

In fact, for our stocking stuffers, instead of little gifts, we all write notes to each other about our favorite memories of the past year and what we look forward to in the next.

But when it comes to things that you can actually buy in a store, I love practical gifts.

You may think this is odd, but in the past I've requested and gotten a Food Saver, a George Foreman Grill, and a Crock Pot!

There are a lot of things on my wish list this year of similar nature--a steamer carpet cleaner, a bread machine, a new camera, "green" cookware...

I don't know if I'll get any of those for the holidays (or maybe I'll end up buying them myself), but maybe DH will read this so he can start doing some research!

What "material" things (things you can buy in a store) are on your wish list this year?

I too like handmade things, which are always on my list. Plus nice yarns for knitting too, but I can't rely on my husband to pick out good ones!

I think this year we're putting money towards a bathroom renovation. Not exactly thrilling, but so necessary! So I guess a toilet is on my list. :)

We just had another little one so we're hoping for a stroller for two (since we have two under two)!

We are trying to be more conservative this year. All I have on my wish list is perfume and bubble bath. (Trying to save for new carpet in the living room!)

I would love one of those vitamix blenders. They look amazing. I'll probably wait a year to put it on my list though. My current blender is working fine.

Haha see that is what men don't understand. lol. Personally, what I want is a romantic weekend with my hubby for christmas. He lives out of state for his job right now and so we have spent quite a bit of time apart. when he comes home to visit we are so busy with the kids and other friends and family that it is hard to get alot of alone time. We haven't been away together for a while and I think we need it. lilcherrygirl at hotmail dot com

Teegan Briggs said...

My husband and I have agreed to not buy eachother gifts this year and concentrate our budget on the kids...mainly because I don't have anything on my list that isn't expensive! lol...

- iPod Touch 4g
- iPad
- Cuisineart Food Processor
- new digital camera
- Environmop
- Scooba robotic floor mop

I'm a big video game person, so in a way I'm being a bit sneaky this year in buying the kids' presents, because they're all things that I will enjoy playing too! They're getting the Kinect for Xbox and a couple of new Nintendo DSi consoles. So I'm happy with that. :)

Love the idea about doing notes as stocking stuffers. I am also considered hard to buy for as I don't need much so I like getting homemade or gourmet foods that I normally wouldn't splurge on. Great way to try out things and get gifts you enjoy instead of putting in the closet.
