DH says I'm the hardest person to buy gifts for.
I disagree.
My favorite kinds of gifts are ones that are handmade and from the heart--poems, crafts, blankets (DH actually made me a blanket!).
In fact, for our stocking stuffers, instead of little gifts, we all write notes to each other about our favorite memories of the past year and what we look forward to in the next.
But when it comes to things that you can actually buy in a store, I love practical gifts.
You may think this is odd, but in the past I've requested and gotten a Food Saver, a George Foreman Grill, and a Crock Pot!
There are a lot of things on my wish list this year of similar nature--a steamer carpet cleaner, a bread machine, a new camera, "green" cookware...
I don't know if I'll get any of those for the holidays (or maybe I'll end up buying them myself), but maybe DH will read this so he can start doing some research!
What "material" things (things you can buy in a store) are on your wish list this year?

I too like handmade things, which are always on my list. Plus nice yarns for knitting too, but I can't rely on my husband to pick out good ones!
I think this year we're putting money towards a bathroom renovation. Not exactly thrilling, but so necessary! So I guess a toilet is on my list. :)
We just had another little one so we're hoping for a stroller for two (since we have two under two)!
We are trying to be more conservative this year. All I have on my wish list is perfume and bubble bath. (Trying to save for new carpet in the living room!)
I would love one of those vitamix blenders. They look amazing. I'll probably wait a year to put it on my list though. My current blender is working fine.
I would really like an immersion blender for Christmas.
Honestly, the only things I want are cloth diapers, A red KitchenAid stand mixer, and my fave perfume, Sicily by Dolce&Gabbana!

This year we moved into a new place, so there are a few things I'm hoping for: a new dish set (some of our bowls broke during the move, and I dropped a plate while unpacking), indoor recycling sorter/bin, and one of those cushy mats for the kitchen.
I usually ask for practical things - new jeans, sweatshirts etc but this year I would love to get the Wii Fit. I really want to get in shape.
I told my husband I wanted pajamas. And a steam mop. Maybe even a day off.

That's too funny, I've requested & gotten a crock pot before too. I also requested a hand vac one year and my hubby said that there was no way he was buying me a vaccuum for Christmas.
Because of all that's happened in the past year, all I really want this year is for the whole family to be together.
I love things that may be off the wall, yet thoughtful. Jewelry making things are always a perfect gift for me, as well.
I'd like a backlit computer keyboard and an ergonomic mouse.
I really do want a kindle or the new nook color, an aquarium and some books I have been dieing to read.
That's about it tho I could use some warm, fuzzy socks too...I'm sure the kids will pick out some good ones.
