When it comes to apparel, I always seek clothing that's not only fashionable, but reasonably-priced too, such as the items offered from HeartSOUL.

Topsy's Popcorn Review and Giveaway

Our family goes through a lot of popcorn.  We eat it at least once a week during our family movie nights, and popcorn happens to be one of Smiley's favorite snacks.  I love eating popcorn too, especially flavored popcorn, so I was really excited to receive a nice big tin of Topsy's Popcorn!

I was so excited to dig in to the very festively-decorated tin (which I'll be recycling and be using to store items--it's just so pretty!).

As soon as I opened the cover I immediately smelled the cinnamon!

Although it smelled really good, I had to try the cheddar first, because I love savory flavors of popcorn, and cheddar is actually my favorite flavor.

It did not disappoint.

The caramel was delicious too--it was sweet, but not too sweet.

And the cinnamon was very "cinnamon-y" - it had a little kick to it!

My boys' favorite flavor is the caramel.

We enjoyed the popcorn both as is and also mixed with kaki mochi (popular rice crackers in Hawaii).

Topsy's Popcorn is very flavorful, and most of the popcorn remained whole--it was packed very well!

And there's A LOT of popcorn!

I was fortunate to receive a Small RideSafer Vest in Red for Smiley to try out.

Installing it was quick and easy.  We had no problems at all.

The only problem we had was getting Smiley used to the vest.

He cried and cried simply because the vest was something new. Even though DH kept saying "You look like an astronaut, so cool," Smiley kept crying.

However, once we brought him in the house and took off the vest, he SCREAMED because he wanted it back on!

So we put the vest back on, and he left it on for the rest of the afternoon.  He now loves the RideSafer vest!

Not only is the RideSafer vest very easy to install and use, keeping Smiley secure and in place, it's also a lot more lightweight than I expected it to be, and it takes up a lot less room than a booster or car seat. 

I've read that many parents use the RideSafer to seat three kids across in their vehicles when they normally wouldn't be able to with regular car seats or boosters.

I've also read how parents use the RideSafer frequently for traveling, since you can easily pack it in your suitcase or carry-on and you won't have to lug around a car seat.

A Baby Sleep Expert's Holiday Survival Tips

The holiday season has arrived, which means many families are finalizing their plans to travel and visit their loved ones. Children’s sleep expert Dana Obleman would like to share the following sleep and schedule tips with parents to help make the holidays pleasant and stress-free:

· Don’t overschedule your family or succumb to the pressure to visit everyone who asks. Attempting to please everyone will lead to missed naps, irregular bedtimes and a potential meltdown from your overtired child.

· Keep nap and bedtime schedules regular. This doesn't mean that the occasional nap in the car seat is absolutely out of the question, but it should be a rarity. Make sure your child is in bed within 30 minutes of their usual bedtime.

· You may feel like the "bad guy" for putting your little one down at 7:00 just as the guests are arriving, or saying no to insistent relatives who want to wake baby from a nap for playtime, but remember: you are the boss. You know how important your child's sleep is, and it's your job to protect it.

· When people see how pleasant and social your child is when he or she is awake, they will soon come to realize that a well-rested child is a happy child. Remind your loved ones that the quality of time spent with the child is more important than quantity.

The first thing I noticed about the Infantino Sync is how stylish it looks.  I love the design, and hopefully new colors/designs will be added soon, and perhaps designs that may be more neutral so DH could use the wrap.

I decided to try the Facing-in cozy time position first.  Admittedly I had some difficulty with the very first step - placing the lumbar belt with the printed labels facing towards me.  It wasn't until I watched this informational video that realized I actually had to have the labels face out first and then flip the belt towards me so the labels face in.

Once I figured out that step, the remainder of the steps were pretty easy, and in a matter of minutes Baby was safe and snug in the wrap.

I've also used the wrap in the Hip-hugging position, but Baby seems to like the Facing-in position the best.

Although he wriggles a lot while I'm putting the wrap together, once he's wrapped up he just seems very content and comfy.

I haven't tried the Infant Hug Hold position simply because he's too big for it, and the Backpack position is a position that I have never been quite comfortable with, so because of personal preference I haven't tried that position simply because I feel safer with Baby on the side or in the front of me.

Overall, the Sync is really easy to use, and I love how it folds up neat and compactly.

As with any carrier, it's really important to follow proper use guidelines and instructions in order to prevent injury to yourself or baby, but once you read through the instruction booklet and watch the video, you may find, like I did, that the Sync makes babywearing a breeze.

Whenever the holidays arrive and I have to make something for a holiday gathering, I usually make the same old thing - Cranberry Cream Cheese Bars.

Even though I enjoy making them (I love eating them more), I need to expand my recipe collection and test out some new recipes that will become new holiday favorites.

I prefer recipes that are not very complicated and don't take a lot of prep time.

Of course, my favorite kinds of recipes are dessert recipes, but I'm looking for all kinds of recipes - main dishes, appetizers, etc.

Kikk-up Your Holidays with Kikkoman Review and Giveaway

One of my favorite meals that's super easy to make (and can also be turned into a side dish) is chicken patties.

I simply get some shredded chicken (canned chicken is fine too), eggs (I often use egg substitute), Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs and Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce, mix everything together and pan-fry them and it's soooo yummy!

I serve them with more Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce, or Kikkoman Ponzu Sauce or Kikkoman Tonkatsu Sauce.

Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs are a great way to add a special twist to your favorite recipes, as I discovered when I tried a recipe for French Toast.

The recipe instructs to bake it, but I ended up pan-frying it, and it still turned out delicious (sorry, I'm terrible and taking photos, especially food photos, but trust me, it tastes delicious!)!

The panko gave the french toast a really nice crispy texture on the outside, and I didn't even need to use any syrup because the vanilla and sugar in the egg mixture made it just sweet enough.

I'm actually going to try and use panko to make a grilled cheese sandwich for Musician and a Monte Cristo sandwich for DH in the near future!
