Enzymedica Digest Gold + Probiotics Review and Giveaway

Getting hit with indigestion, heartburn, or constipation from the things I eat is never enjoyable.  Fortunately such digestive issues don't happen to me very often, but when they do hit (such as after numerous dinners out, a long vacation, or just stress-eating), I am MISERABLE.  But I recently gave Enzymedica's Digest Gold + Probiotics a try to help with the inevitable "troubles" I encounter.

Taken daily, this award-winning, 2-in-1 digestive formula provides the broad spectrum fire power of plant-based enzymes along with probiotics that deliver friendly bacteria to the intestinal tract. Digest Gold + Probiotics provides total digestive care, conveniently in a single capsule.

100 million Americans (over half of them women) suffer from tummy troubles—including heartburn, bloating, indigestion, gas, constipation and diarrhea. In fact, clinicians say digestive problems are the #1 complaint in most doctor visits. The culprit is poor nutrition, and specifically, the Standard American Diet (SAD, for a good reason!)—heavy in refined carbs, sugars, fats and processed ingredients. Combine that with the stress of modern living, and you’ve got a recipe for chronic trouble.

Unfortunately, pharmaceuticals treat the symptoms but don’t provide a cure—even in the case of the ever-popular “purple pill.” That’s why more and more people today are using digestive enzymes and probiotics to help the gut out. According to NYU professor Steven Lamm, MD, author of No Guts, No Glory (Basic Health Publications, 2012), a healthy gut is the cornerstone for overall wellness. He recommends taking digestive enzymes before or with every meal to help prevent and tame a host of tummy troubles.

Our family is no stranger to Enzymedica. In fact, one of my sons takes Enzymedica's Digest Spectrum to help with his digestive issues. He would go for 3-5 days without a bowel movement (the longest stretch was 7 days) and after taking Digest Spectrum regularly he now has at least one normal bowel movement a day.

I admit I was a bit hesitant about enzymes at first, only because I knew nothing about them, but after doing lots of research and consulting with medical professionals (always check with your doctor before taking any enzymes), I discovered how beneficial enzymes could be, and they did indeed turn out to be tremendously beneficial to my son.

After seeing how beneficial enzymes have been for my son, I knew Digest Gold + Probiotics could be beneficial for me as well.

And so far, so good!

Although initially I didn't like the taste or smell of the capsule, it's been at least two weeks since I first took Digest Gold + Probiotics, and I'm no medical professional, but the enzymes seem to be doing their job, as I have not have any digestive issues since.

Yes, it could be just a coincidence, and I'm only taking just 1 capsule per day instead of the 1 per meal (total of 3) per day (I wanted to ease into it and watch for any allergic reactions), but overall I have had no issues with the enzymes themselves, and the fact that each capsule contains enzymes AND probiotics is a big plus (love that I don't need to take probiotics separately).

If you are concerned about digestive issues, you may want to check out Enzymedica Digest Gold + Probiotics (make sure to consult a medical professional first!).
