Last month I posted
about how Musician started playing on a special-needs soccer team and
how it was so inspiring to see all the volunteers (mostly from high
school, but also several from middle school and even elementary school)
work with the differently-abled kids on the field.
The things I've witnessed have been truly amazing...
A high school co-captain of the football team holding hands with a special-needs child...
A high school soccer player carrying a special-needs child because his toes were sore...
Another
high school co-captain spending the entire hour chasing after a
special-needs child because he could not keep still...and he did not
complain once...
I could go on and on.
Too often we hear about kids in a negative light (e.g. bullying), but witnessing the heartwarming scenes as I've witnessed during Musician's soccer games would make anyone's heart smile and give them faith in the future of our kids...
