Shark Sonic Pro Duo Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I received the below product free of charge for review purposes.  All opinions/experiences are my own.

It's summer, but I'm far from being done with my spring cleaning.  I just don't like cleaning - it's as simple as that, but what I do love are products that make cleaning easier, like the Shark Sonic Pro Duo (SRP $249).

The Sonic Duo technology is a unique combination of high-speed scrubbing action at 1,000 times per minute to remove stuck-on dirt and grime, and a custom cleaning solution and pad that results in a deeper clean leaving no sticky residue for a truly clean home.

Set up of the Shark Sonic Pro Duo was very quick and easy.  After attaching the appropriate pad and mixing the cleaning solution, I was ready to clean!

I cleaned our kitchen tile and our living room carpet, and overall I think the Shark Sonic Duo Pro cleaned rather well.

In my experience it seemed as if it cleaned my kitchen tile a lot better than the carpet.  It could just be that my carpet was not as dirty as the kitchen tile, and that it was easier to see and "feel" the clean in the kitchen (I thought the floors felt "squeaky clean" and my husband even commented that the floors look shinier), but I was still impressed with the amount of dirt and grime that was picked up on the pads after cleaning both the tile and carpet.

We did have a few stubborn stains on the carpet, so on one particular stain that has been there for "who knows how long," I used the Pre-Treater stain remover, let it set for 5 minutes, and then used the Shark Sonic Pro Duo.

With just a few squirts of cleaner and a few passes over the stain, a lot of it disappeared!  It didn't disappear entirely, but I was quite impressed with the noticeable difference.  I will try cleaning over it again, and next time I'll leave the pre-treater on for longer as well as use the Scrub 'n Stain pad, which is specifically used for stubborn spots.

Even on the tile, we had some really bad scuff marks, and the Shark Sonic Pro Duo did a nice job of making most of the marks disappear with very little effort.

The Shark Sonic Pro Duo had no problems gliding on the various surfaces.  Whether it was cleaning my kitchen tile or the living room carpet, it was very lightweight, making it easy to maneuver, even around furniture.  Lights on the base make cleaning in dark corners or under furniture a breeze.

I love that everything is color-coded so you know exactly which cleaning solution and pad to use for carpet, and which solution and pad to use for hard floors.

The pads themselves were a cinch to clean - I just threw them in the washer and they were ready to use for the next time (very eco-friendly compared to having to buy disposable pads and throwing them away after a single use).

I do, however, wish they provided more cleaning solution (the small bottles provided just enough solution to clean a room a few times).

Also, the carpet is still damp after cleaning, so to expedite drying I used a fan.

Despite these issues, I still think the Shark Sonic Pro Duo is a good cleaner.

To me, ease of use and getting the job done is important when it comes to cleaning, and that's exactly what I think the Shark Sonic Pro Duo is - an easy-to-use cleaner that does a nice job cleaning.

Win: One lucky winner will receive the Shark Sonic Pro Duo!
